We apologize to customers and visitors, but due to a number of family events and time consuming projects, we are closing our farm for the summer. In the meantime, we'll also be redoing our website - adding our on-line store, and a blog highlighting the alpaca farm lifestyle and fiber arts - and reorganizing the weaving studio. Please return to this website for more information.
Olympic Mist Farm - 2016 Shearing
A HUGE thank you to our friends and neighbors who helped with this year's shearing day. Lynne and Emily manning the skirting tables -Dan, Bill, and Glen leading the alpacas to and from the shearing process - Dale doing a little bit of everything - and of course our awesome professional shearing team including my good friend Pam and her daughter Kelly. We were blessed with a perfect warm sunny day, after a week of rain - whew - because there is nothing worse than soggy fleeces!!
We have an assortment of our wonderful alpaca yarns, yarn-blends, and roving, all in an array of natural and dyed colors - brought to you, of course, by our loving herd of 'pacas.
We also carry items from local artisans, including: natural and space-dyed sheep, angora, and pygora roving, handwoven wearables, and our popular organic soaps.
Weather permitting, we provide tours of the farm and gardens, and up close encounters and photo ops with the alpacas, so be sure to bring your camera.
The studio is always busy, so there is something new and exciting to see every day. Learn about weaving and spinning, and all the other amazing things to be done with fiber. During the Fiber Quest event, we'll have several local fiber-artists here demonstrating their arts - drop spindling, natural dyeing, weaving and spinning.
So let your stress melt away - listen to the hum of the 'pacas, enjoy our sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains, and visit with us for a while. We guarantee an educational and fun-filled experience.
